Avoid 'Webroot', here's why.... Avoid webroot, lately their program doesn't seem to work right on Windows 10, even if already purchased plan, for whatever reason program stops working, and won't open, rather it's just there on your PC, like a empty shell, you tap the logo, the app, all the promps, nothing.
I went to their site, looked at other peoples comments and complaints, and turns out there really is some compatibility issue with webroot and Windows...here's some discussion about that if you want to read what others have said...
community.webroot.com/webroot-secureanywhere-antivirus-12/won-t-launch-cant-uninstall-344791 If you visit webroots help community link, you'll see the problem myself and others have been having with it.
It gets on your computer then won't launch and near impossible to uninstall.
Prior to a month ago, maybe a few weeks, (not sure, wasn't paying attention just assumed it was working) but prior to todays issues and back, I'd never had a problem with webroot, but after reading reviews i see others have.
I guess I was lucky for the most part.
But what's
even worse than their program no longer working right, is their customer service response to it, the whole 'ticket' thing 'And we'll get back to you BS'...they never do.
And if call, forget about it, will be on hold forever, that's what did it for me, that was the last straw.
And I recently re-subscribed to them about 3 months ago, before they get your money all the phones ring!
As soon as they get your money, none of the phones ring.
I suspect management changed, as usually what happens when some of these tech companies get to big for their britches In the past, webroot was the darling of anti virus protection companies, and like partnered with 'Best Buy' and the 'Geek Squad'..but recently you don't get that experience with them anymore, something happened, you can just tell.
Something internally has changed, just guessing, but I've seen enough tech companies go from user friendly where cheery people answer the phone, to suddenly can't get ahold of anyone, and when phone is answered someone from far away land on other end.
In closing, I advice anyone deciding on which anti virus protection to use to avoid webroot, or use at own risk, but just saying if you purchase, then try downloading to computer, then try activating it, and it doesn't activate, then good luck trying to get a hold of help and or getting a refund.
Sometimes I wish groups like antifa, instead of just burning down Ma and Pa shops and stores, sometimes I wish they'd specifically go after companies that screw people over and are never held accountable.
And with that, one more quick review to follow.
