Not sure when being 'gutter' became the new standard of behavior within urban 'B' communities. Not sure when being poor, economically poor, meant you had to marry the Devil and carry out his plans. When I look back through art, popular art, people I use to know, older types from past generations, Soul Train videos from the 70's, 80's, it just seems a radical shift in mentalities occurred within the Afro communities in urban areas. Growth was occurring, as a whole, the Afro American community was diverse in arts, artists, song, then came the late 80's and it just seems everything went to hell. Thug culture was born and celebrated, mainly do to the commercialization of Rap music. Rap music and  made being a thug seem 'cool', something to strive for. The media basically took what people use to shun, behavior people use to shun, and glorified bad behavior through songs, videos, which earned music label companies lots of money. The music labels, executives, are the ones responsible for the whole 'thug' mentality that so dominates urban landscape today. T he music labels gave voice, and a national platform to the worst of the worst in the black communities, but their shocking lyrics appealed to many outside the hood. It was buyers outside the hood, that actually funded music labels to make them go out and seek more 'thug' rappers. And that was the beginning of the end for many. Once MTV and music labels made it seem cool to be thuggish, it was over for millions. But as long as people in Idaho, Montana, Kansas were buying, it didn't matter. 'Oh, lets find another filthy rapper, the people love this stuff', the music executives would say. They gave this vile people a platform, choked out all other artist, blues players, Jazz singers, and just went with what was hot at the time, filthy gangster rap, cause that's what sold, it had a shock value to it. Other urban kids saw this, and adopted a new identity almost over night. Now look...now look at the destruction....the 10's of 1000's of deaths that have followed from senseless sensationalism. I'm 'black' or labeled as such by non scientific measures, and still wouldn't want 'those' people living in my neighborhood either.
Ghetto scum, is what 'those people' refer to, in response to something I heard on the radio.
Whites, rural conservative or metropolitan types, think all 'blacks' are the same irregardless of income or ethics or value system, and just tend to think blacks think like '1 for all and all for 1'.
Maybe back during the civil rights era, but not anymore.
And sorry but motivated, well behaved, morality based people of color do not like living around hood rat types anymore than uppity white folks don't.
It's really more about 'class' than color, but whites just tend to lump all people of color in same bucket, so that as a person of color, if you look 'black', and move into predominatly white neighborhood, they get hostile, and think you're a section 8 type, and will bring loud music, liter and gun fire.
And sadly many have done just that...that's what makes it so pathetic is that many hood types, even when given second, third, fourth chance, just can't drop the very behavior and mindset that destroyed their life to begin with.
The males still choose to act, dress and behave thug even when living in $250,000 house community.
It's a mindset that follows them wherever they go or move, it's why even male hood athletes, even after earning millions, still act hood.
It's a sickness.
I'm black, and don't even want to live around hood types, cause I've seen the destruction they bring to places, particularly the males who just have no respect for life, always want to prove themselves, and do random drive by's for no dam reason at all.
So until thug types change their behavior, I honestly can't blame whites for not wanting all that crap in their neighborhood.

The Movie NWA, will once again hurl black males back into a narrow social stereotype
As one who can appreciate art, I can appreciate the new movie NWA, but what I don't like about this movie is that it once again hurls the image of black males into this very narrow role, or narrow social band width.
Once again this type of movie reinforces the idea that all African American males all come from broken inner city homes, all love rap, all wanna be gangstas, all love to swear and curse, all disrespect women, all hate the police and on and on.
And sadly there will be younger types who will definitely try to live up to every and last stereotype above, and see nothing wrong with it.
But to black males who work hard everyday, are responsible, aren't petty street criminals, weren't raised in roach infested hood areas, movies like this don't help.
Black males raised in the hood are usually geographically locked into urban area, thus never have to interact with people outside the hood, never have to visit Nebraska or some rural farm town in Idaho ect, as such they're not as self aware, or should say not as aware that that hoodish attire, speech, is not normal to most.
You have to remove people from an environment in order for them to realize things.
Sooner, but usually later, they will learn how destructive that lifestyle and mentality is, but usually when young most still live with single parent, or leech off of girlfriend, do to criminal record and not being able to get a job, or apartment or car.
But sooner or later, people grow up, mature and want better, and even these women start to realize they want better things In life, don't always want to be living in apartment complex, and want a man who'll earn his keep, who is educated, can speak proper, and has a moral base to them.
But while these women take care of these men, they never grow up, can be 30, 35, still dressing and reasoning like a 15 year old, you see it all the time in the hood.
Pretty soon woman leaves, and they end up on street in front of Salvation Army, or other food shelter.
No money, grown and broke, no skills, no car, no license...that whole 'gangsta' lifestyle is a dead end for most unless one goes on to be a rapper or a real underworld gangster, but both cases are rare.
I've never seen goofy street thugs earn enough dough where they can get good $160,000 house, maintain auto payment, insurance, and take care of family, it just doesn't happen.
Without good credit it's hard to get any of that, and never seen no street thug with good credit.
They sabotage own life early on by making dumb decisions and following destructive urban trends.
And NWA, the movie, basically take the modern day definition of a black male back to where it all kind of began.
And music executives are also responsible for pushing that image of black males in order to sell albums at the time..(but that's for another post)

I'm black, would be considered as such by 90% of people who saw me, at least in U.S.
I'm black, was raised in rural area around majority rural whites, clean neighborhoods, no crime, good schools, no ghettos, no homocides, it was basically a paradise.
The black/minority population of country I was raised in was probably less than 3%, yet place was a paradise while growing up.
As a black person, I never felt safer in my life.
Now I live around lower income urban apartment blacks, and totally hate it.
I've never felt more unsafe in my life, never lived with so much anxiety.
Looking back, even as a black person, I much more prefer living around whites, or in areas where black population is under 5%.
I have no problem with working class professional blacks, none, for those are the kind I was raised around, but when you get near cities, you see all these single parent class blacks with no values, no education, no sense of history or culture, all listen to, were raised on the filthiest of rap and rap lyrics, no manners, all rude and hostile, violent, worship guns and violence, no longer fear or know god, at least not the Holy loving God of the bible.
Love to litter, no sense of keeping a clean environment.
If, when, I move, I never ever want to live around this class of human ever again ever during rest of life on Earth.
I just can't take it, males walking around looking lost, death in their eyes, minds and hearts, shootings nightly, no remorse, no value system, just zombies that live only to terrorize others.

I could write some profound observed contrasts I saw tonight while driving around, or I can just lay back and go to sleep.
Think I'll just lay back and go to sleep and cherish what I visually experienced tonight.

There's no worse feeling than working hard all day, the right way, busting your butt, being productive, and then at end of day coming back to dwellings and seeing a bunch of hood rats slumming around.
It just takes the life right out of you.

Oddly enough, the only people not buying into the whole 'black lives matter', are, well, your common street raised black person.
Black on black hostility continues at not just a normal rate but accellerated pace.
And it's simply, black folks raised in the hood or urban areas just automatically assume all other blacks are also, and if raised in that hood setting, you tend to see the ugliest forms of behavior, and usually those exibiting that behavior 'look like self'.
So if you're 'B' and was raised around men who steal or cheat, rob, than you assume all males of color or black, do the same and have the same mentality.
If you're a females and chose to date scummy men, then when you get older you just assume all males of color are scummy, and listen to vile rap.
If you're black and throw the 'ngga' word around all the time, than you simply think, or assume all other people you deem as black, have that same gutter mentality about self.
It's a sick circle of degradation within hood areas, where every things, assumes, everyone else is as scummy as they are, or those raised around.
At least amongst the rank and file street types, there is no 'black on black love' or anything, just the usual paranoid mind of 'I'll get you first before you get me' destructive mindset.
This kind of changes among the more educated, meaning those who went on to college and or who hold public offices, ext, but among the typical rank and file hood types, forget about it, the self hate is still there.
Today, anyways, meaning post 1060's civil rights era, the most racist types, unforgiving types, I've ever encountered in my life are rank and file black folks.
YOu get to a point where you just stop caring and instead simply learn to avoid.

If I could, as a black person, If I could, I'd chose to never live around another 'black person' in my life, ever, and then maybe I could learn to love and appreciate self again.
Asians, whites, Europeans, Cubans, anything but self hating, self loathing American blacks from urban areas.
The most hateful class of human on the planet, but to be fair they, that mindset is a creation of 'white racist' from the past who injected blacks with a self loathing venom.
And now that former racism has really come back to destroy society today, cause when create a whole population of people who hate themselves, that hate begins to spread outward eventually, and everything begins to rot.

Living in any neighborhood or apartment complex where there are a lot of urbanized ghetto males just drains me, not just me but others.
It just drains the life out of the place, all the positive light just goes away.

where I stay, as quick as the hired Hispanics pick up the litter, and landscape, just as quickly the B residents of this place instantly toss, throw, litter, garbage back on the ground.
B folks just don't seem to care anything about the environment, at least not apartment dwelling types.

Many older black people are totally embarrassed and ashamed of the actions of todays urban bred youthraulmanderson88.blogspot.com/2023/06/when-you-wake-up-and-realize-youre.html I think many older blacks, if could, if could press a button, would love to just press that button and change racial identities, become any race other than black, just to escape and live a normal life, in older age, without all the negative stigma associated with being black. Thats sad, but true for many.
